We were elated to learn that Nataleigh E. found her dream wedding dress at our flagship store in Little Rock, Arkansas. Read her story below for more on the proposal, wedding dress and big day.
Nataleigh and her husband Chris first met through their mutual church in St. Louis, Missouri. And while careers took them far away from each other – Chris was soon transferred to Little Rock, Arkansas, and Nataleigh spent a summer working in the Middle East – their love flourished despite the distance.
A year after their first date and still living in different states, Chris called Nataleigh (who was back in St. Louis at the time) with a romantic request to look at a star he was admiring from his home in Little Rock. With a little coercing, Nataleigh stepped onto her porch to find not a star but Chris ready to propose. “He promised to be the best husband he could be. I said YES!” recalls Nataleigh.
After work and a trip to the gym one evening, Nataleigh popped into Dillard’s Park Plaza in Little Rock for an impulsive shopping trip. “I had no intention of buying anything that day. Although, that’s what I always say.” But it wasn’t long before she spotted a strapless Adrianna Papell gown, tried it on and knew it was for her. She was drawn to the dress’s unique yet subtle rosette texture and the way the peachy ivory shade enhanced her complexion.
The dress was one size too small so the sales associate ordered the correct size for her. “It arrived at my home in no time, and I immediately opened it. As I pulled it out, I had that reassuring feeling again. That this was my dress! I had found my dress!”
Nataleigh accessorized her dress with a braided pearl necklace, classic pearl earrings and three single pearl bracelets that complemented the pearls and jewels sewn into the gown’s flattering high waistline. Nude peep-toe pumps from Antonio Melani, embellished with the perfect amount of beading, finished her wedding look.
Once Nataleigh found her dress, it immediately inspired her wedding planning. “The dress gave life to the picture I had in my head of my wedding. I planned a lot of centerpiece ideas and the cake’s style around my dress.” Nataleigh wanted guests to remember her wedding for its elegance, but also wanted to keep the focus on the beauty and gravity of the event. Her dress’s subtle rosettes and breathtaking pearl and jewel details set the tone.
Making smart budget choices during planning was important to Nataleigh and Chris. “We certainly didn’t want to go into debt over our wedding, and purchasing my dress at Dillard’s was definitely a wise choice! I proudly advertised my great deal all throughout our reception when I received countless compliments on my beautiful gown.”
